After Us continues the story of Melissa & Javier and their connection, trials and tribulations we learned about during Hart's first book Before You.  

With his best friend and cousin, Diego, now gone at the hands of Wink, a leader in the MS-13 gang Javier is out for blood and wants to no one else's blood worse than Winks.  HIs mind is set on avenging Diego's death, but at what price will he pay?

Melissa is missing her best friend Faith.  Faith has completely retracted from Melissa and at the worst possible time in Melissa's life.  Can you blame Faith really though from pulling away after the love of her life, Diego dies in front of her in Before You?  

After Us, I felt, could have been more jam packed with action and danger.  I wanted to know more about the MS-13 and their antics and how Javier was convincing the members to accept him.  However, Javier & Melissa's relationship was sweet even through their own turmoils they were dealing with in their separate lives.  EXCELLENT twist of events that left me completely surprised and totally made After Us worth it!
